About Me

My name is Laurie and I’m a shopaholic. There, I’ve said it! I’m completely, unashamedly, 100-per-cent addicted to interiors and homeware, and I’ve set up this site to bring you the very best buys, some great projects to get stuck into, and all the knowhow to get your home looking just as you’d like it. The Fix is my own little platform to tell you about new brands and affordable cool buys, with a little bit of travel and lifestyle inspiration thrown into the mix – basically, everything I love!

So, a little about me… I’m a professional interiors stylist and writer, and I’ve worked for a whole heap of interiors magazines and big name brands over the years – everyone from Ikea and Next, to the Evening Standard and Style at Home magazine (where I was the Homes Editor for five years, compiling monthly shopping features and styling decorating shoots). I’ve been lucky enough to style and write about homes up and down the country, appear in videos and guest blog for various brands – it’s safe to say I know interiors inside and out. What’s also true is that my heart belongs to the shopping world… I just can’t resist that latest buy and love a good trawl to find a bargain! The great part about my job is that I get to see new collections way ahead of time and hear about trends in advance, which means that everything on this blog is set to give you a bit of an edge – to keep you ahead of the game so to speak.

I’m also the co-host of Secret Styling Club, where I run professional styling workshops and events across the UK, letting you in on all the tips and tricks us interior stylists use on shoots.

I love to chat, so feel free to drop me a line and let me know I’m not the only one out there with a full-scale IOAA (Interiors Obsession And Addiction). You can also check out my Instagram account for more of what I’m up to day to day – mostly you’ll see that when I’m not writing or styling, I’m shopping away… eager to get that high from a new purchase. So, ladies (and gents), pull up a pew, grab a drink and prepare to get your fix…

Happy shopping,

Laurie
