Wreath-making with Dunelm

The start of December was a busy old time for Secret Styling Club, with workshops galore, but you know what? It really didn’t feel like work. Getting crafty, working with our favourite brands and meeting other people as passionate about interiors as we are is pretty much the dream job to be honest. So, when Dunelm asked us to come along to their Nottingham store and host a wreath-making workshop, we had our Xmas jumpers at the ready! Here we are getting in the festive spirit as ‘Dun-elfs’ for the day…

So, how did we make the wreaths? Well, we used a selection of fresh eucalyptus, along with some faux garlands and stems from Dunelm. Fancy having a go?

Here’s what you’ll need:

Wreath ring (we used 14″ metal hoops from Amazon)
Faux garlands or stems – these ones were ideal
Florist wire
Scissors
Fresh eucalyptus or greenery
Decorations and gift tags

Step 1
Take the faux garland and start by winding it around the metal wreath hoop, until it’s wrapped all the way round. Bend the ends around the wreath to fasten it and secure with florist wire if needed.

Step 2
Add in your fresh eucalyptus and any faux stems you want to use. Again, bend the faux stems around the wreath and tuck the eucalyptus in, so that you can’t see any of the metal wreath and there are no gaps.

Step 3
Add any decorations you want, from baubles to clip-on flowers or hessian bows – even a star hung from the top or bottom looks fab. Lastly, add a gift tag (we used Kraft luggage labels for a rustic effect) and tie to your finished wreath.

Voila!

Now you just have to decide if you want to keep it or give it as a gift!
